WHEW!

Okay, now I'm finally up to date on my blog! If you have any questions about anything, don't be afraid to email me. I probably won't respond right away, but I'll eventually respond haha.

I'll update this blog everytime something cool happens, or when something interesting happens with one of my cars. Right now, there won't be too many updates simply because I'm saving all the money I can to pay off my wheels so I can get those on finally and not be a battleship anymoar haha

REEEYAAAMZZZ SON.

Yup, so I'm finally in the process of buying wheels for my baby finally! I'm not by any means a baller, so I have to be gay and pay for them with a payment plan me and the seller put together (props to cjr198car on Z31p, coolest seller, EVER.)

Fronts measure
15x8 -12
Rears measure
15x10 -50

Needless to say, I'm moar than happy that I waited to buy wheels for so long!

On the Road Again!

Got her back on the road April 20, 2010.
coilovers set at MAX high:

Hurried up and slammed her down the next day:

(you can see my Slamburglars reppin in the back window there, all those stickers are the Slamburglars handbook!)

powdercoating for all!

Since I got a powdercoating kit, I kinda went powdercoating crazy, I powdercoated everything I could fit in my oven (that's what she said) All my suspension, some of my stuff under the hood, etc. etc.

ALL of my suspension! hahaha
I also sectioned my struts so I could regain some suspension travel and go lower at the same time, sectioned about 2.5" out of my struts using Koni shocks meant for a VW, comparison between stock and not:

Long story short

Basically I took her off the road for a while and stripped all the suspension out. The original plan was to get all the suspension rebuilt and sent her out for paint/body while everything was out. That plan changed and all I did was go through the suspension.
This is how she sat from December all the way through late April:

Old, crappy suspension

I got a powdercoating kit and powdercoated everything:

last pics from when she was clean

Took these pics literally a week before some douche in a '87 Ford Ranger smashed my rear quarter panel in :(

Almost low enough!

Got a set of Falken 912's on the same wheels, which allowed me to fully lower my car to the limit of the stock style suspension. Also painted my valve cover purple and got an N42 Intake manifold that I shaved and ported myself to match with the KA24 60mm throttle body as well as put my header on and a Cressida AFM.

first low.

This is my first iteration of low with my Z (not low enough.) and I made a set of boso pipes for fun and took some pics with them.

MOAR JDM!!!!

I finally got my hands on the two things I wanted most, CORRECT and ORIGINAL Fairlady 280Z emblems for my car. I love them, and set my car apart from almost every other 280ZX in the country :D I also got a pair of seats (for basically free) to get rid of the stockers that were deteriorating quickly. Shortly after, I had already had my car for a year :O

First JDM part!

My next "upgrade" was a genuine JDM valve cover, instead of the small print "Nissan OHC" stock one, this one has very bold "NISSAN" lettering, which I like alot better, I painted it the same Blue as well haha You can also see how I started deleting stuff off the intake manifold to make it look better, and my "custom" fuel rail that never gave me anything but problems and I eventually ended up switching back to a stock rail.

ricer engine bay dress up

Painted some stuff under the hood, like the AFM cover, TPS cover and the valve cover. I painted them all Pontiac Metallic blue engine paint, the best color EVAR, imo. lol

First set of wheels

Got my first set of wheels (that I'm still rocking now) sometime in November 2008. I bought them for $60 with tires (super redneck tires lol) They're just the stock 14x6 -10ET six spoke wheels that come on the later 280ZX's, but they're a helluvalot better than the old turbines that came on the car haha

First "photoshoot"

Back when I took these pics, I was still an epic noob (now I'm just a noob lol) at taking pictures, but these give you the basic idea of how the car looked right after I got her running. (yes, that is duct tape on the quarter window, someone broke into her before I bought her and stole the "kickass system" she had)

The engine.

Long story short, I got the engine back together with only a few problems, and this is what it looked like:

First day with my Z

I bought my ZX back on May 5, 2008. I found her sitting in my neighborhood when I was on my way to work one day, and I also happened to be looking for a RWD Nissan to go uber mad doriftoing in (hey, I was a n00b to the import scene still) and I decided I was going to talk to the owner the next day. So the next day I went back to the house, glanced at the car real quick, and went to the door. A little kid answers the door, so I ask him if his dad would be willing to sell the Z. He said "No." I started walking back to my car all bummed out because this was the last car I knew of that looked like she'd be in my price range. All of a sudden, the kid's dad opened the door and told me to come back! It was just like in the movies! haha So long story short, I ended up buying that blue 1979 Datsun 280ZX for $400, and the owner even towed her to my house!

This is what she looked like once we got her home:

Now for the fun part. The story behind the car is that the PO had planned to give this car to his son, but his son got a '05 V6 Mustang Convertible (LOL) instead. The car then sat in the same spot for over a year. He had also taken the head off to have it rebuilt, but he never got around to putting it back on, and that was my first project.
